My attempt at a daily photograph showing something about me, my fellow inmates, and our natural habitat. May or may not include photos of people; I am still pondering opening that door.

Today's Inspiration
This little bloom doesn't care that my Christmas cactus's many other blooms appeared and disappeared weeks or even months ago. It just knows that it appeared now, on its own terms, when it was ready, and is brightening my days. I smile just thinking about the big effect a little bloom can have. It offers an example I hope I can take more to heart this year.

Oh, how I agree with you about what a big effect a little bloom can make! And what a lovely little bloom that is!
ReplyDeleteLovely bloom! Reminds me of Emily Dickinson's poem ...
ReplyDeleteThat perches in the soul,
And sings the tune--without the words,
And never stops at all,
And sweetest in the gale is heard;
And sore must be the storm
That could abash the little bird
That kept so many warm.
I've heard it in the chillest land,
And on the strangest sea;
Yet, never, in extremity,
It asked a crumb of me.

ReplyDeleteHope is the thing with feathers
That perches in the soul ...
