What Went in the Mail

I recently sent some mutated Beanie Babies to Australia. Now that they've arrived, I'll post a photo of one, a kangaroo with the head of a rabbit and a platypus in its pouch. Playing god or just having some creative fun?

O, Christmas Ape

It wouldn't be Christmas without the Christmas ape atop the Christmas tree. What? You mean not everyone has a Christmas ape atop their tree? And this year, he's joined by the Rantosaurus, a so-far-undocumented Beanie Baby mutation.

Distractions

I was searching somewhat unsuccessfully for my self-esteem this afternoon when younger son suggested the search might be helped by making the orangutan Beanie Baby who will not be mutated a new suit to wear. He's now disguised as a winged hippo, and firmly under the control of the MFing Bearodactyl. As for my self-esteem, if it's hiding in the flour bin, I'll have it back momentarily since as soon as I publish this post I'll bemaking pie crust for tomorrow's pumpkin pie making.

I Think We're on a Roll Here

A friend in England suggested that a sheep that could spin its own wool into yarn might be an interesting Beanie Baby mutation, and she was right. It's still not clear what this one should be called (Charlotte Sheep?), but it's what you get crossing Hairy the spider the Ewey the sheep. Yeah, I really should get something approximating a life, eh?

That Whole Too Much Time Thing

Meet BearODactyl, the latest Beanie Baby mutation. BearODactyl differs from the other mutations in that the ODactyl part is a costume. Untie the bow under the bear's chin and remove his front legs from the wings, and he's back to being Cinders the bear. He much prefers the power and prestige of being BearODactyl, though, so I don't think we'll be seeing much of Cinders any longer.

I May Have Too Much Time on My Hands

Cinders the bear will soon be able to don a Swoop the pterodactyl costume and become ... drum roll, please ... Bearodactyl. Yeah, I should probably find something more lucrative to do with my time.

Two Out of Three Ain't Bad

Two of the three things I'm making this afternoon: a cherry cheese pie (recipe from The New Good Housekeeping Cookbook) and spider monkey, the second in a planned series of Beanie Baby mutants. The third thing I'm making is bread, which is rising.
