Walkies!

Biscuit does like having her "secondary human" back and gullible enough to fall for the "I need an extra walk" routine. For a 13-year-old dog, she certainly has her energy, and if the extra walks keep mine up, all the better.

Think We Could Market This?

The sons heard me mention that I needed to work on my arm strength, having gotten out of the habit of lifting weights regularly. The next thing I know, there's a log outside the door and an axe. I did this chopping while today's bread (seven days down, one to go) rose a bit and baked a bit. Despite having no use for the log that resulted (I don't think it's aged enough to burn), I feel an incredible sense of accomplishment.

A Ski Machine Is Not a Clothes Rack

I got this Nordic Track ski machine when the sons were in preschool as a way to get some exercise--a 30-minute video for them and 30 minutes of exercise for me. Yes, this is an exercise machine and not a clothes rack. I can't say exactly how many miles I've gone on this machine because there were years I only noted how long I skied not how far. I can say that it is easily in the thousands and that the ball bearings in the ski assembly have been replaced more than once.
